Goalkeeping Classes

Goalkeeping will be offered at the following locations:

• Irish Sportsdome
• Corner Kick Indoor Soccer
• Stardome
• Tonkadome

Staff: Tom Kleczewski will lead the Coerver Coaching Goalkeeper Courses this year.

Curriculum: The curriculum will include graduated skill building in the following areas.

• Footwork (vital to achieve the correct positioning/angles)
• Basic Saves (to ensure that goalies can make the straightforward plays, every time)
• Dropping and Diving (good technique will breed confidence and enthusiasm)
• Charging and Blocking ( combining bravery with safety)
• Taking High Balls and Handling Crosses (timing and footwork)
• Distribution with hand and foot ( the goalie is also the first line of attack)
• Communication ( playing big and organizing the defense)

Competition: Goalie Wars 2007/2008

Be Ready!!  Coach Kleczewski will be organizing a Goalie Wars competition which will run throughout the winter of 2007/2008.  This will really motivate your goalies to be at the top of their game.  More details to follow.
