The Coerver Coaching Centers of Excellence:

The Mission:  To raise the Standard of Minnesota Soccer by bringing together the best young players, training with Minnesota's top skills coaches, using the World's No. 1 skill training method: Coerver Coaching

Why the Coerver COE?

  • Players train in a structured learning environment that emphasizes skill training, small sided play and having fun with soccer. The curriculum is challenging. It is developed for players to master basic skills and gradually move into more difficult skills, but also emphasizes creativity and spontaneity.
  • Players develop a passion for soccer. Passionate coaches breed passionate players.
  • Players will not have to travel excessively. There are four regional centers to enable short commute times.
  • Players DO NOT HAVE TO LEAVE their soccer clubs to get high performance coaching. Why travel all across town to play on a so called "select team", that may have good players, but weak coaching?
  • Players are eligible to play in the Coerver Cup, a tournament held in Seattle in the spring for the best young players in the country

How does the Program Work?

Each fall, MN Coerver COE will be holding player assessments for 8, 9, and 10 year olds (U-9,U-10, and U-11) players in each of its five regions. There are 24 openings for both boys and girls, at each age group in each region center. The majority of training will take place during the winter: 18 weeks of training - ninety minutes per week.

How Much does it cost?

The winter training costs $440, payable in Full or in two payments; this includes 18 training sessions of 90 minutes each + a full Adidas COE Training Kit (shirt, shorts and socks)

A spring Clinic and a summer camp are also scheduled.

How do I register my player?

  1. If they are U-9 Maroon, U-10 Maroon, or U-11 Classic 2 they are automatically accepted in COE. Gold level and Classic 3 players accepted after evaluation.
  2. If they were in COE last year, they are accepted into COE.
  3. Go to http://www.coerver.com and register. Click on MN. Scroll to the COE nearest you.

Who are the Coerver Trainers and what curriculum will my player follow?

Coerver COE Trainers come from many different backgrounds and countries.   Ex- professional players, ex-college players, school teachers, high school coaches and club coaches make up the majority of the coaching staff.  All the Coerver Coaching trainers are trained directly by Coerver licensee for Minnesota, Simon Whitehead, and operate from common curriculum derived from the Coerver Coaching Pyramid of Player development. This Pyramid is tabbed and explained on the left side of the Coerver home page.
